Dr. Mao started his periodontal practice over 25 years ago. Dr.Mao was born and raised in Washington D.C. He moved to Rome, Italy to finish his high school education. After that he attended Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine after which he joined the Air Force for two years as a dentist. Subsequently he did his Periodontal training at Boston University. Dr. Mao then moved to Towson, Maryland where he now practices and resides with his wife Stella. His two children Meredith and Bryan have recently moved out to start their own lives. Meredith has recently graduated from  Duke University School of Business for her master's degree in business administration after graduating from Princeton University. Meredith with her husband Josh have two children, Kaitlyn and Sophia.  Bryan just graduated from Univ. of California at Berkeley where he has just obtained his MBA after previously getting his masters in mechanical engineering at Stanford University. He now resides in San Francisco with his wife Elizabeth and are expecting my 3rd grandchild soon. Stella has been temporarily (becoming a permanent fixture here) working at the office; she attended Rosemont College outside Philadelphia after which she received her Master's degree in Chemistry from Villanova University. Dr. Mao enjoys many outdoor activities, including Golf, Baseball, Tennis, Swimming. He also is an avid computer programmer. In fact, he developed this website and many others.

Dr. Mao is constantly trying to improve his techniques in patient care and patient communication skills. He tries to develop close coordination with referring general dentists and dental specialists. He lectures occassionally on dental implants and periodontics. He is one of three dentists in Maryland who have been voted as Best Dentist in every Baltimore Magazine since its inception 1999. He has numerous trademarks, copyrights and two patents in pain management the results you see in his online reviews. He sometimes consults with Universities in the science of extra-sensory perception and is currently writing a book. His life accomplishment involves the winning of a lawsuit against the city for improper waste management.

Dr. Mao has a great sense of humor that has not only helped to contribute to Dr. Mao's success in dentistry , but has helped him view the world as an enjoyable place to live in. He loves to interact with people and thoroughly enjoys all his patients.
